Description

Tooth Builder Sensitive Toothpaste for sensitive teeth -- with 36% US birch Xylitol -- gets your teeth squeaky clean. It also helps prevent canker sores and soothes and protects dry mouths.

Tooth Builder Toothpaste offers many advantages over conventional toothpastes:

Relief for Sensitive Teeth
Tooth Builder's Mouth-Friendly nanosized calcite crystals migrate into the open tubules in your teeth and seal them off, thus stopping the main cause of tooth sensitivity. You should begin to feel relief within a week.

Conventional toothpastes for tooth sensitivity contain potassium nitrate, which works as a local anesthetic, calming sensitive tooth nerves. This is not as effective as stopping tooth sensitivity by blocking the open dentinal tubules, the way Tooth Builder does.

Plaque, Cavity and Bad Breath Preventive.
The high xylitol content in Tooth Builder discourages the development of plaque and cavities. Its mouth-friendly ingredients also fight bad breath, whereas the harsh ingredients in conventional toothpastes actually contribute to bad breath.

Canker Sore and Cold Sore Prevention and Relief.
Tooth Builder stops most canker sores and mouth ulcers because it's free of SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) and other irritating ingredients found in most toothpastes, even the so-called 'natural' ones. The patented, non-irritating detergent in Tooth Builder is mild enough for use in artificial tears, which also makes it ideal in preventing cold sores and for soothing dry mouth. If you struggle with canker sores and cold sores, you will also want to look at our Durham's Canker Rid.

Tooth Builder is also:
  • free of fluoride, SLS and salicylate
  • a product of the USA, with American ingredients and packaging
  • world's first hypoallergenic toothpaste
  • Free of added color and flavor
  • gluten free, soy free, and vegan
Tooth Builder® is fluoride free, but if you need a fluoride toothpaste, use Squigle® Enamel Saver® Xylitol Toothpaste with Fluoride. To help you decide which toothpaste best fits your needs, see a Comparison of Squigle®, Squigle Jr, and Tooth Builder® Toothpastes.

Tooth Builder is now dairy free and vegan. The original Tooth Builder® contained a small amount of lactoferrin, a gentle and effective antimicrobial found in cow's milk. In this updated Tooth Builder formula, lactoferrin and calcium propionate have been removed, and potassium sorbate has been added.

Is Squigle® Toothpaste with 36% Xylitol a cardiovascular risk?
©2024 SQUIGLE, Inc.

Recently a paper appeared** which states that ingestion of Xylitol may pose a cardiovascular risk.

Normal use of Squigle's toothpastes does not pose a risk--most people ages 6 and up don't swallow their toothpaste.

In the extreme case where a person brushes his/her teeth with a Squigle® Toothpaste 3 times a day and swallows, they would consume about 1 gram of Xylitol, which is too small to pose a risk, according to the article.

Regarding Squigle JR, which is recommended for infants and toddlers, the dose of Xylitol which they would swallow is too small to pose a risk, according to the article.

Applications of Xylitol which may pose a risk, according to the article,  include habitual heavy use of:
   Xylitol chewing gum
   Xylitol candy
Xylitol used as a sugar substitute

    No More Burning

Posted by Jeanette Willis on 6th Mar 2015

So far I am very pleased with both Tooth Builder Sensitive and Enamel Saver toothpaste. I have very sensitive gums and most recently have even had to take antibiotics for the pain and swelling. I don't think my dentist realized just how sensitive I am until this last bout. I found these two toothpastes on the internet and ordered both. Neither one of them burn or cause my mouth to peel on the inside like the others They also taste good and make my teeth feel clean. . I showed them to my dentist and he was so appreciative that I made him aware of these products. He said he had never seen them before. I am sure he has other patients who could benefit from them. I have also given up my Sonicare toothbrush in favor of Dr. Collins perio toothbrush which is super soft. I think (and so does my dentist) that I have hit on the right combination of products to help.

The best toothpaste I have ever used !! I used to dread brushing my teeth even though I know the importance of this . But now I don't have any sensitivity at all during brushing . I also noticed that my teeth sensitivities have subside. My mouth feels normal again and feels clean. I am truly greatful for this company and products.. I will never use any other toothpaste again.

    Love it.

Posted by Patti Jessel on 18th Feb 2015

I bought the Tooth Builder for Sensitive Teeth for the calcium to build up teeth, and the xylitol as an antibacterial for my gum disease, and no fluoride or other tons of added ingredients. I have sensitive teeth to the cold tap water when I brush, and to all cold such as ice cream very painful to eat, and iced tea, etc. I thought the cold sensitivity was the least of my teeth problems and never thought to try a toothpaste for it. The first time I used it, I brushed it on and just spit it out without rinsing my mouth out with water afterward, so that it would stay on my teeth awhile here at home and soak in better, to kill germs and remineralize my teeth that are falling apart (I think due in large part to diabetes type 2). Lo and behold, the second time I brushed, the cold tap water didn't even hurt my teeth. I am amazed. Can't wait to try some ice cream, etc. It leaves my teeth feeling squeaky clean. Pleasant neutral taste. No strong minty ingredients burning my mouth. Since I'm very sensitive to many things, the first time I used it I got a slight spaced out feeling like I get with many things. I figured it was from the xylitol, and was worried I wouldn't be able to use it. But I gave it a second try and I felt fine and ever after. I use just a little pea sized ball on wet toothbrush, and voila. This 4 oz. tube will last me a nice long time. Well worth the price. I am extremely pleased with this toothpaste.

    Great Alternative to Fluoride...

Posted by John Raymond on 15th Jan 2015

I find this toothpaste a great alternative to fluoride. I have been using "Tooth Builder" for a few years because I have suffered severe enam wear due to bruxism. It is the only toothpaste I know of that "plugs up"exposed dentin.

    Great Toothpaste

Posted by Karoleana on 4th Jan 2015

This toothpaste has definitely helped my sensitivity and last dentist appointment showed no cavities. I am cavity prone so this was great news! The whole family can use it too since it doesn't have fluoride and I don't have to worry about the kids swallowing it.

I am pleasantly pleased with this product. The shipment was packaged nicely and received in a short amount of time. Time will tell how effective this product will be for my teeth. I would highly recommend that everyone buy this product and move away from regular toothpastes. I will most likely continue to purchase this product because I am tired of getting poisoned by big brand names.

Posted by Cheryl Brown on 4th Dec 2014

This is the best toothpaste. I have a lot of teeth issues that I have to stay on top of. I need the Tooth Builder. One thing I don't get thirsty at night anymore and those sensitive spots are gone. I ordered 3 more right away. I can't wait to share this with my dentist. Looking forward to better check ups. And such fast shipping. Thank you Homestead Market!!

    perioral dermatitis

Posted by SG on 25th Oct 2014

I have perioral dermatitis, much to my horror. One of the reputed contributing factors is fluoride. I searched and found Tooth Builder and hoped. It may be a coincidence, but my rash has calmed down. So far so good. The dreaded rash is chronic, so no miracles, but if no fluoride helps, I am all for it. Plus it leaves my teeth feeling clean and tastes very pleasant. Four stars only because I have just started using it. Going for 5!
